How to reduce stretch marks
Stretchmarks (or striae as they are referred to in dermatological terms) form when the skin is stretched suddenly : More accurately, the skin’s second layer gets torn by overstretching. The most common areas for stretch marks to develop are the stomach, breasts, thighs and hips. Both men and woman can suffer from them and they affect most of the population. Luckily, they pose no health risks and only affect us cosmetically. However, As it becomes warmer, and we wear fewer clothes, our concerns about stretch marks increase.
Why do stretch marks Develop?
This stretching occurs when the body grows so fast that the skin can’t stretch quick enough to keep up with it. Stretch marks are most frequently associated with pregnancy but can develop during puberty: sudden weight gain and even body building can also result in stretch marks.
Although skin is normally very elastic , when it is stretched, the normal production of collagen is disrupted. collagen to ensure that the skin remains firm and supple. There are factors outside the body which affect the collagen levels produced naturally by the skin such as a person’s diet or smoking. Collagen levels affect lines and wrinkles on the face. They also influence how other blemishes, like surgery scars and acne scars, heal.
What do stretch marks look like?
When initially formed, stretch marks appear as reddish purple lines. They appear indented and feel different to the surronding skin. Over time, the discoloration does subside, turning lighter and less noticeable. The ability to heal however does vary considerably from individual to individual.

There are several methods of Treating Stretch marks. Stretch mark treatments vary dramatically in cost and effectiveness, treatments range from creams to cosmetic surgery For many people, stretch marks are embarrassing and often make people feel self concious, but this can be overcome or eliminated by treatment to remove stretch marks.
cream is one form of stretch marks removal treatment which is easy to obtain and easily used however, not all creams work overall, creams are not the best stretch marks treatment. Using creams with a Dermaroller, allows a much higher percentage of cream absorbed by the skin so this method is the easiest method for most individuals.
